Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc. l have lived in Lumby over 8 years you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer: The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.
Don’t you just love Road Trips? I know I do. A lot of times there is always something amazing to see when travelling, things you have never seen before. On one of our road trips we came across this cool piece of art in a small town. It would be too big for my place but it was fun to look at and of course take pictures of. Here is a giant fish, ( I’m not sure what kind it is, maybe a Big Mouth Bass?) inside a boat with a pair of feet in waders hanging out of the mouth. It was quite amusing, and I have no doubt that the artist was laughing with every detail that they added to this great piece of art.
Can you imagine having nightmares about being eaten by a giant fish, and then the nightmare was true, instead of you saying that you caught a fish this big with both your arms stretched out as long as they could go. The giant fish could go back to its family and friends with its fins stretched out as far as they could go and the fish would say “I caught a person that was six feet tall. and I can prove it”. The fish would then open his mouth and show the person inside. The family and fish friends would be in awe, and would want to go fishing with the giant fish to see if they could catch a big person to gloat about as well. HAHAHA
There have been stories over the years of people surviving after being swallowed by a whale. I have my doubts on this as the acid in a whale’s stomach would kill you pretty fast along with no air to breathe, you wouldn’t be able to last long enough to have the fight to get out, as your body is being crushed inside by the large fish.
In reality there has never been the truth behind a person getting eaten by a fish, unless of course it was a shark, then you could be a tasty snack.
I look forward to the Spring, when the roads are good enough to go on longer trips, to see all the wonderful sights out there and take a bunch of pictures with my trusty cameras again.
