August In Review

It has been another busy month for our Seniors at the drop in. From field trips, games, and crafts, we are always looking for fun and exciting things to do.

This month included two field trips. We had wonderful weather for another boat ride on the Heaven Can Wait pontoon boat. A relaxing hour-long trip along Okanagan Lake with a picnic lunch and many laughs and stories. It was a great way to spend the day.  Our second field trip this month was a trip to Mabel Lake. This trip included a picnic and lawn games. A trip to Mabel Lake has to also include ice cream at the marina store as well! On our way back to Lumby, we stopped to climb to the top of Shuswap Falls to look at the breath-taking sight.

Our craft this month was by special request, we did some tie dying. Handkerchiefs were supplied and some people brought shirts to do as well. They turned out radical! It was a lot of fun and they all turned out very unique.

National tell a joke day was August 16th. We celebrated this day with a coffee klatch and told jokes for an hour. We were all bursting at the seams and rubbing our cheeks from laughing so much.

What a wonderful month August has been with our seniors and we can’t wait to share more laughs and activities with them all!

Whitevalley Resource Center would like to thank our sponsors, The United Way, and Interior Health.
