Call for Youth Artists!

‘Parkour’ and is by Nikala Oakley.

The Monashee Arts Council (MAC) is looking for artists twenty five and under who love the arts and would like to showcase their work!

Do you or someone you know enjoy creating works of art?  Our October show will be open to 2-D and 3-D pieces (drawing, painting, photography, sculpting, pottery, beading, wood carving, sewing or weaving).

The Monashee Arts Council members hope this show will encourage our talented local youth to get involved and go public with their work. There will be a people’s choice prize and an opportunity to sell your work.

The only cost for this show is our $2 Youth Membership and is open to all who want to be involved with the our local art scene.

For more information or the application for please feel free to go to our Facebook page or drop by the Village Gallery, 1975 Vernon Street. (Highway 6) during our open hours of 10-4, Monday to Saturday. You can also request these documents by email:

Also be sure to check out our current show ‘Stronger Together’

“It takes stamina. When it comes to fostering the arts, every village has its own challenges. Lumby and the rural areas D and E are no different. As we all recover from the quarantine and feel our way tentatively forward, MAC has reconfigured itself to take on the operation of the Village Gallery.” –Robin Ledrew

The show, Stronger together, is now up at The Village Gallery (1975 Vernon Street, Lumby, BC) and will run until September, 2020.
