Call For Entry: Local First Nations and Metis Artists for June 1
In honour of our upcoming guest artist, David Wilson Sookinakin, The Lumby Village Gallery is putting out a call for entry for local First Nations and Metis artists from all age groups. This is an opportunity to show a diverse range of artwork and craft from our own community, and to express yourself in your own unique way.
If you have a piece of artwork that you would like to share in the show, please come into the Monashee Art Gallery on or before May 31st and fill out the applicable forms.
Memberships may be renewed/obtained at time of delivery. MAC will need the following information for each piece of work:
Title, Medium, Size, Price (if selling), Description (how, why, when or where), Name of Artist.
(Please note that the Monashee Arts Council will receive 30% commission on any art sold during this show.)
There’s still time to join MAC as local artists of all ages and disciplines to share over 30 pieces of nature themed art in our May show “Nurturing a love for Nature” running from Monday May 3 to Saturday May 29, 2021 in honor of Canadian artist and naturalist Robert Bateman as he celebrates his 91st birthday.
Enter MAC’s raffle for a chance to win one of your own signed Bateman prints, or a Bateman art book. Cost of tickets $2 each or 3 for $5. Draw date May 29, 2021.
The Monashee Arts Council and Village Gallery are open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm at 1975 Vernon Street (Highway 6) Lumby.
