Symphony of Summer
The North Okanagan chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists is back at the Village Gallery for their new show of ‘Symphony of Summer’. Come witness the vibrant world of summer through the eyes of this talented group of artists from across the North Okanagan from Salmon Arm, Oyama, and Cherryville. From beach-combing crows to beautiful views of local landscapes and flowers this show is a must see.

Donations needed – 2nd Hand Art Supplies Sale
Are you cleaning out your studio or craft room this summer? MAC is starting to take donations for our 2nd hand art supply sale. This sale helps us fund our student bursaries for youth wanting to further their education in the arts.
Supplies can be dropped off at the MAC Village Gallery which is open Mon-Sat 10am-4pm
The Sale will take place September 26&27 at the Autumn Artisan Market!
Call for Artists – Limited Palette
Painting with a limited palette can mean selecting the fewest paint colours possible to create the widest range of tones on the spectrum. It can also mean choosing the smallest quantity of pigments that are required to create a range of colours that suit the effect you want to create in your artwork. Monochromatic (using only a single colour) would also be considered a limited palette.
We’re encouraging artists to pick three (or less) different colours to include in our limited palettes for this show – not including the pigments that create tints (white) and shade (black or burnt umber).
By using a limited palette in oil, acrylic and watercolour, or any other medium – Artists can mix a diverse range of values and tones -you can create a wonderfully harmonious effect.

Job Posting – Children’s Art Instructor
The Monashee Arts Council (MAC) is seeking a qualified art instructor to teach our Children’s Art Program from September to June.
Duties will include:
- To provide age-appropriate instruction in various art mediums for ages 8-12.
- To provide a course outline.
- To acquire supplies for each instruction day.
The art classes are one day per week for 3 hours total (including class time, set-up, sundry duties). Class time is 3:00 – 4:30.
The position is by contract. MAC will pay the sum of $75.00 per week ($25/hour), paid monthly. Plus, a one-time 2-hour sum for organizing.
MAC will promote, register, and collect payment for each participant of all classes. Please submit your resume via email to monasheeartscouncil.com by August 17, 2026.
