Over the weekend the Lumby Stars U9 Morrison (Green) squad ventured to Revelstoke for their first tournament of the 2025/26 season.
Teams from around the area took part, creating a spirited and supportive environment focused on skill-building, teamwork, and a love of the game.
Friday kicked off the tournament with the Stars coming out strong against Revelstoke Grizzlies Maroon, the Lumby Stars U9 team competed with great determination and enthusiasm.
Saturday came with two games against Revelstoke Grizzlies White as well as Vernon Ice Breakers, the team showcased fundamental skills, including strong skating, passing, and effort on every shift.
Sunday they played their final game of the tournament against the West Kelowna Lake Monsters. The kids came out strong and rallied to put some pucks in the net, unofficially going 4-0. The team walked away with medals and determination for their home tournament January 17-18th.
Beyond the results, the weekend was full of memorable moments — young athletes celebrating goals, cheering each other on from the bench, and building lasting friendships.
Events like this put fun, participation, and development first, giving U9 players valuable game experience in a tournament setting. Even without official scores posted publicly, the real success was seeing kids grow their confidence on and off the ice.
