They Lumby Santa Toy Drive/Teens Count Too program had higher numbers of youth to help this year, and Lumby stepped up and did it.
We would like to thank the Lumby fire department for doing the annual kickoff at FreshMart and obtaining over $1500 in cash and toys.
Thank you to the Lumby Library, Rona, the Rusty Spur, Jitterbeans, Okanagan Outpost, Fields, Sisters, and the IDA pharmacy for allowing us to have boxes in their establishments.
A shout out to the Higher Path, who organized additional fundraising by painting Christmas themed windows for businesses in exchange for donations, and for pooling their tips for one week to buy stuff for our Lumby youth.
Also thank you to Laurielynn Bridger-Stroud and her daughter, Ivy, for doing a mini drive of their own when they heard about our program, and assisting us with the distribution of the gifts.
And last but not least, thank you to the Lumby Valley Times for their advertising support during the Santa Toy Drive/Teens Count Too program this year.
Thanks to everyone’s contributions no matter how small, we helped 92 youth from over 160 families for the 2025 Christmas season.
We hope one day to have a permanent location like Santa’s Anonymous has in Vernon. In the meantime, our program is a coordinated effort provided by ourselves, the Lumby Food Bank and WhiteValley Resource Centre. So, if you know of anyone in need during the year, please advise the Lumby Food Bank or WhiteValley Resource and we will assist them in helping the individuals in need.
